Dallas' shopping and dining destination, Mockingbird Station, is excited to announce a year-long partnership with local artist, Mari Pohlman. The Dallas-based artist who established her design brand, "marpohl" in 2017, specializes in large-scale murals, which makes Mari the ideal partner to carry out Mockingbird Station's vision. Mari's first partnership with Mockingbird Station included her famous stairway design located next to Castle Nail Spa. Mockingbird Station and Mari will work together to conceptualize and execute a quarterly mural display created by Mari and potential collaborations with other local artists for guests of The Station to enjoy throughout 2021.
Inspired by the Mockingbird Station logo and brand, the design will incorporate spring motifs and imagery into the mural, which will cleverly combine with the wings of a Mockingbird. The first mural, titled "Wings of Spring" will feature bright, fresh colors, with plants and flowers, along with the colorful wings of the Mockingbird, designed to captivate the patrons and shoppers visiting The Station. Mari will be onsite to paint the mural from March 10th -16th, which will be unveiled on March 17th. This will be the first of the four activations that Pohlman will create for Mockingbird Station.
The Station and Mari hope that this mural serves as a meaningful and symbolic piece as spring and warmer weather approach. As we embark on a new season, the goal is to provide a cheerful outdoor atmosphere for shoppers to visit Mockingbird Station and see the mural firsthand. Patrons will be able to pose and take pictures with the vibrant mural through May. The activation will be located across from West Elm underneath the canopy within Mockingbird Station.
